How Big Is the Problem of Teen Driver Accidents?

- Inexperienced, newly licensed teens: The crash risk is particularly high during the first six months.
- Male teen drivers: In 2016, the motor vehicle death rate among male drivers ages 16 to 19 was twice that of females of the same age.
- Driving with teen passengers: The presence of teen passengers in a vehicle increases the risk of an accident, and the risk increases with the number of teen passengers.
